Peter Vickery – Grasslands of the Americas

After working for Massachusetts Audubon, Peter Vickery founded the Center for Ecological Research, a non-profit organization in Maine. It is devoted to conservation and ecological research. He is also on the faculties of University of Massachusetts and University of Maine.

Peter did his PhD work at the University of Maine, studying the effects of fire on grassland birds of New England. He is a prolific author with over 40 articles in the scientific literature, and is currently working on the book Birds of Maine.

Peter has been a member of NOC since 1984.
